Football 101 -- presented by the Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center and the Bo Pelini Foundation, Inc., is filling up fast! Fans are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible for the Tuesday, June 2, 2009 event on BoPeliniFoundation.com. Approximately 200 reservations remain for the fun-filled clinic. Space is limited as registrations will be limited to the first 1,000 who sign up.Led by Coach Pelini and the entire Husker football coaching staff, Football 101 promises to be a fun-filled day of learning and activity. The event will be held on campus at the Hawks Championship Center and the adjoining Memorial Stadium. Last year, the first Football 101 taught by Coach Pelini sold out with approximately 1,000 women attending.
Registration costs just $85 for each 18-and-older participant. Of each registration, $55 is tax deductible. If you are unable to attend, the new BoPeliniFoundation.com website is designed to also accept donations which will again go toward the fight against breast cancer. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2 and the day will conclude with all participants taking the Tunnel Walk into Memorial Stadium at approximately 4 p.m. No reservations will be accepted the day of the event.
The registration fee also includes lunch, provided by Valentino’s / Premier Catering, in Memorial Stadium and a Football 101 gift bag that will include an adidas T-shirt, sponsored by Advanced Radiology and imprinted by Ideal Images. Participants are encouraged to arrive when the doors open at 7 a.m. in order to browse information and products from local vendors. Coffee and Pepsi products will be available while participants check out the many silent auction items. While most of the events will be held inside the Hawks Championship Center and on the indoor football field, some events may be held outside, weather permitting, with some walking and interaction required. Comfortable shoes and cool game-day attire is recommended. Accommodations will be made for those in need of assistance.
